Hmm, I will look for those also. I hadn't tried those since I didn't know the
would be any different. I installed lirc for a irman receiver and it was very
easy. I will download the rpm and give it a shot...

I assume you're using Fedora Core 2. Axel Thimm (atprms.net) has kernel-
modules for lirc, e.g. kernel-module-
lirc-2.6.9-1.6_FC2-0.7.0-42.rhfc2.at.i586.rpm available. I'm running
lirc_sir happily from there (but was struggling configuring it since the
lirc doumentation seems rather sparse...). Any reason you're not using
these?
