Over the last couple years I've known and forgot alot of stuff about
framebuffer and g400 stuff. It is definitely easier with Gentoo now
days than it was, I used to have to know more... now Freevo init stuff
"does the right" thing for the g400. Great? - I don't have to know
about matroxset etc anymore?
So I want mame or xmame to work. I enabled it, but when I try to run a
game I get a "flicker" on the TV. Then it returns back to Freevo menu,
but now the freevo menu is dimmer and narrower.
My settings:
GAMES_ITEMS = [
('MAME', '/data/games/roms',
('MAME', '/usr/games/bin/xmame.SDL', '-fullscreen -modenumber 6',
'/data/games/snapshots', None)
)
]
plugin.activate('games', level=45)
(I wonder why I have level=45)
A friend said advmame is easier. Indeed, I can run it while plugging a
monitor into the G400, but it doesn't seem to work if I'm hooked to a
TV. Seems that I need to run it from the console, and I'm just ssh'ing
in since my console is black.
The above "-modenumber 6" doesn't work either... I guess my SDL version
is too new for that since it says it's depreicated.
Can someone give me some insight?
Thanks,
-Scott
