hm??? well... I dont use freevo with a window manager... I just have a
user "freevo" with a .xsession pointing to a little script that disable
the dpms/screensavers and calls freevo. To be true, this machine doesnt
even have keyboard/mouse :-). Just the IR and a USB joystick.

I have a NVIDIA card. The nice thing is that you can use it as
xinerama/dual head. But I heard that the Tv-out of ATI is far better.

I cant tell about the media center, but I found freevo easier to setup
than MythTv. The cool thing about Mythtv is that you can set a lot of
things from inside the mythtv (paths, program options, etc...). But set
the whole mythtv is a little harder (backend/frontend, mysql, etc,
etc...).

There once was a master programmer who wrote unstructured programs. A
novice programmer, seeking to imitate him, also began to write
unstructured programs. When the novice asked the master to evaluate his
progress, the master criticized him for writing unstructured programs,
saying, ``What is appropriate for the master is not appropriate for the
novice. You must understand the Tao before transcending structure.''
