I have this same problem too and I do not have a good solution. The problem
is in freevo's way to use mplayer. Freevo uses an argument -demuxer 17 (if
I remember it correctly) when a mp3 file is identified.
As I understood that it is a mplayer problem, I asked in the
mplayer-user mailing list as well. It seems to be a bug in the current
version and is fixed in the CVS version (it really works with the
version :) ). So if anyone apart from me and Kari has the same problems,
using the CVS version makes the bug disappear!
