Dear All,
I'm new in this list.

I'm using Freevo 1.5.4 / 2.0 on a Gentoo Linux Box. My Hardware is a Celeron 800 (overclocked to 926Mhz) with an Ati All In Wonder (this uses a Mach64 or a R128 processor... I don't remember correctly), 256MB of Ram.

I was using Freevo 1.5.4 and I discovered problems on .AVI/.MPEG files playback... rendering is not smooth and my CPU goes to 100% for all the playback... I tried mplayer build of January 2006 and also xine as default players. Now I upgraded (very easily on a gentoo box) to Freevo 2 (today's svn update) and I have the same problems.

Now my question and the strangeness of this situation.
If I use directly mplayer or xine to play the same file (with their UI) all runs smoothly... so is this a Freevo Problem? Does freevo has a high overhead when using mplayer/xine? For example with xine alone I have a cpu usage of 50/60%... does Freevo take the remaining 40%?

I don't think so, but at this point I suspect that I have to discover some option in config files or something else... can you help me with any suggestion?

By the way..., freevo is a great project... congratulations!

Regards
Ivan
