Thank you, now it works. Only left problem is, that after it switched to runlevel 3 and before freevo is starting, a grey screen is to be seen for more than 1 minute. First I thought it is hanging, because I did not hear the harddisk working, but suddenly the freevo start menue appeared. It is always the same. And when I switch it off, the same grey screen appears and then it hangs really. I have to switch to runlevel 1 to make the shutdown thing.... any more ideas?

Hi,

I still can?t boot into freevo (using SuSE). The first two options from the freevo.org wiki made a black screen or a direct boot in USER in Textmodus after booting.

For the gdm-thing I miss the directory */dm* and the *02GNOME.desktop* file in /etc/X11. I guess in SuSE these files are somewhere but where? Or do I have to create this file? Then where I have to copy it? Any experiences with SuSE 10 or openSuSE?

If you are using KDE login manager, then you need to go into the KDE
configuration tool and set up the auto login there.

I am not very familiar with KDE and how it's settings work.

If you use GDM as a login manager, then, you can find the config files
on SuSE here:

/etc/opt/gnome/gdm/gdm.conf

My Freevo box is in spares at the moment, so I can only work from memory
now, but you should be able to find a desktop file
in /opt/gnome/share/gdm/BuiltInSessions
Make a copy of the default.desktop and I think it should appear in your
GDM list.

When I have my box back in one piece and working I can check exactly how
I did it.
