By the vdev '/dev/videoN', I assume that dvb cards still have a video
device, certainly the Kworld card has from the dmesg.

Guessing, 'normal' if the video stream is then passed to mencoder.

No, I doubt it, by default there is only one VideoGroup object. You will
need something like:
VIDEO_GROUPS = [
  VideoGroup(
    vdev='/dev/video0',
    adev=None,
    input_type='tuner',
    input_num=0,
    tuner_norm='NTSC',
    tuner_chanlist='us-cable',
    desc='Local Cable',
    group_type='ivtv',
    record_group=1),
  VideoGroup(
    vdev='/dev/video1',
    adev=None,
    input_type='tuner',
    input_num=0,
    tuner_norm='NTSC',
    tuner_chanlist='us-cable',
    desc='Local Cable Recording',
    group_type='ivtv',
    record_group=None),
]

The wiki is incorrect about these settings, it has vdev set to the same
video device. The input_num controls if the signal is composite or
analogue, at least as far as the ivtv cards are concerned. (Don't have any
dvb cards)

Don't know.
