I know newer versions of nvidia driver (9xxx & possibly 8xxx) the mode line is depreciated so line tuning a mode line is not possible. also once you set the video mode(PAL-b) i doubt frequencies are adjustable. you may try the nvidia forum for known bugs, also there are older drivers that may not have the problem.
