Legally, in this case, I think it'd be fine. However how would the
Flash video be controlled? AIUI, the iPlayer is using a later, more
DRMed version of Flash from which it is harder to extract the stream.

Is there an API which could be driven to tell it to pause etc?

Having the BBC on-demand is *very* cool - there's so much stuff you
only find out they broadcast afterwards whilst browsing around.
