mplayer can play play list with the -playlist option, I know. I if I 
understand mpd it is acting as the server and freevo is generating the 
play list.

What I was really looking for is a way to generate a play list from the 
files, recursively, randomly and pass the play list to mplayervis. The 
reason is not that pygoom works for goom-2k4 in full screen mode I don't 
like the restart at every track.

Mplayer also has a -shuffle option for play lists and a -loop for repeats.
