This should be easy if you can ssh to the box or see a couple of xterms You need to: # ircat --config=/etc/freevo/lircrc freevo # ircat mplayer If you see anything in the mplayer window then you are correct and have two events being sent. One to freevo, which sends a command to the stdin of mplayer and one on mplayer lirc interface.
