Hi, I'm sure this was mentioned as being possible, but I cannot find any documentation telling me how (or I'm being blind!). I am about to re-jig my freevo setup as I've just bought a shiney new ASRock ION-330. I've got mplayer etc. all working using VDPAU and can do high-def using only 5% cpu, and all audio via hdmi etc. :)
So now I want to replace my existing freevo box, and I figured I should get DVBStreamer working at the same time! What I want to do is have my old machine run as a server, probably in the loft nice and close to the aerial to get good signal, then only use the ION box as a "front end" downstairs. This will suspend when not in use using the power button on the remote. So I need to run all the "back end" bits of freevo, such as downloading xmltv, recording programs, running the webserver etc. on the server upstairs rather than the box in the lounge. WebServer and RecordServer seem quite straight forward: I'll only run those process on the server. Again the same with the XMLTV download. However how do I setup dvbstreamer to run on the server and still allow me to watch live TV with live pause etc? Record files and media I can server over the network (I have 100meg switched to the lounge, so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem, cable is cat 6 so just waiting to upgrade to a gigabit switch sometime soon). Any help greatly appreciated :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
