Ok, can you try the same as I suggested to Bernie.

If you've removed tv.livepause, then no its not embedded any where else.
You can still pause mplayer or xine even when on there own but you loose
all the data being broadcast while they are paused.

I rather suspect its the near live or end of buffer problems you are
experiencing.
