No, I don't think it is that as that would be a kernel issue, which I
think is v unlikely.

One thing has just popped into my head, when does this issue occur?
1. When you are watching near live?
2. After a pause?
3. Or when there is no more space in the buffer?

If 1. then it might be a signal quality issue, try pausing for a moment
and see if the problem disappears.
If 2. this would be more worrying and sounds like a bug I haven't seen
If 3. this is a problem that is reasonable difficult to deal with the
current implementation seeks a few seconds from the end and restarts
playback but as a lot of broadcasts use variable bit rate this doesn't
always work.
