In my instance the interface told me the recording was scheduled but then the guide would not update to highlight the scheduled show in green to signify this. I didn't have time to look in the logs to see if there was anything of interest.
Have you changed your debugging options to level 9 and had a look to see if anything of interest is written to the logs? Also you never mentioned what version of freevo you're using.
