I have found the issue. I am using the latest svn freevo.1.x source tree
..itt has the new OSD stuff.

When you do a recording that is in the future you get an "OK" "CANCEL"
dialog. The button labels are reversed, i.e cancel selects it for recording.

I guess this should be reported as a bug ..
