I'll let the experts answer that one for sure, but I would guess it is. I think if you've got a good graphics card, you can offload the decoding to that, but from the looks of your processor, you have an embedded one, which would suggest your graphics card probably isn't that great.
My machine, had a P4 1.6 Ghz and that was too slow...or at least I think it was, could be the experts on here have a way to make it work, I'd be very interested to find out if they do as I ended up replacing my freevo box with an all-in-one media player, and I'm really missing being able to just hack it the way I like it...I've promised myself I'll give it 3 months before I upgrade my old box... :) DJM23 Nothing is true; Everything is permissible... ----- Original Message ---- From: Leandro sullo sgorbio <lnofe...@cybervalley.org> To: freevo-users@lists.sourceforge.net Sent: Fri, 26 November, 2010 7:56:57 PM Subject: Re: [Freevo-users] Poor performances with mkv and mp4 files Il giorno gio, 25/11/2010 alle 23.33 +0100, Vincent Giacomini ha scritto: > What kind of player ? mplayer on a pinolino:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : CentaurHauls cpu family : 6 model : 13 model name : VIA Eden Processor 1200MHz stepping : 0 cpu MHz : 1200.099 cache size : 128 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce apic sep mtrr pge cmov pat clflush acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 tm nx pni est tm2 xtpr rng rng_en ace ace_en ace2 ace2_en phe phe_en pmm pmm_en bogomips : 2402.15 clflush size : 64 power management: Is the processor too slow? > files are 1080p encoded movies ? > Yes. -- Ciao leandro http://oivabkctz4ajdnwa.onion/blog/ gpg fingerprint: 54A4 2612 FD50 0313 7FED 6A91 DA5C 1552 E7A4 D6C2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Increase Visibility of Your 3D Game App & Earn a Chance To Win $500!
