Hi,
What i can suggest is debug if there is a problem of a process running or
a replaced/bad binaries.
Try booting linux in single moed (init 1). You should be using LILO, so
when it comes into the screen, press TAB and type ´linux single´
Then try to login into the computer, if you make it, then verify your
configuration of vsd or xinetd (?)
Maybe someone else can help with an extra idea.
