Dave,

my main fear would be the patches that might be needed in the future.
Are you willing to have an eye on everything? There are much people patching
redhat rpms for security holes and so on. I'm not sure if this bothers
us if you would use an different system. Most patched rpms might not run.

Why don't you disable X on installation ;)
