OK I just looked in /etc/hosts on the host server and made it

192.168.0.4 chiefwigham.fubra localhost

rather than...

192.168.0.4 chiefwigham localhost.localdomain

and now doing telnet to port 25 shows up as being right for both the host
and v-ses (i.e. the correct name.)

Strange - but true! Not only that but ... and get this ... this stopped all
the 'relaying denied' errors that I was having. Horray!

BTW, Sendmail is being disabled by something or other I think (probably
freeVSD) as whenever I boot up I get

Starting Sendmail ........ [OK]
...
Starting VSD [OK]

but shutting down gives

Stopping Sendmail [FAILED]

Any ideas on how to stop sendmail running as a daemon on the host server
permenantly? Cheers.
