Perhaps I wasnt very clear, or you didnt read my message in its entirety.

What I mean is that presently pop before SMTP authentication only works with 
Virtual users, not that vm-pop3d only works with virtual users.

Vmpop3d works with both - I assure you, I have tested it, seen it with my own 
eyes.
