I believe we too are having problems with the exact same configuration you
describe, it is the only thing still holding up the pre-built RH7.1 skel.
The problem, as I am sure you are aware, seems to lie in the delivery agent
getting mixed up with the gid it should adopt.

As you have a pre-built skel your virtual server's sendmail.cf should be
that from our freevsd/host/linux/redhat/7.1/skel-repo/etc/sendmail.cf. It
will have a '0 RunAsUser=admin' entry in it if it is.....

Ah... I have just checked, it appears the sendmail.cf in the 7.1 skel-repo
is identical to that in the 6.2 skel-repo. This is therefore unlikely to
work properly, as you have demonstrated, and it explains why you have given
your sendmail version as 8.11.2/8.9.3. Sorry you have been sent round the
houses on this one, I was led to believe the RH7.1 skel-repo was up to date.
