One thing about wu-ftpd all should be aware is that is has a long record of
exploits and security related problems.
Proftpd was written because someone got sick of the continuous security
problems wu-ftpd was causing. The last one was just few weeks ago (version
2.6.0)!
The original isp that make vsd possible choose proftpd for a reason. It has
different features that are missing in wu-ftpd:
1. Several options to restrict what an ftp user can do
2. It doesn't need extra libraries/external programs to perform things
like tar/gzip on the fly.
3. It's the ftp daemon of choice for professional hosting companies (both
bsd or linux based).
Just some food to think about (i.e. if it ain't broke don't fix it).
