Each VS requires an IP address, as does the hosting server, so you'd be limited to 29 virtuals. > > How many virtual servers could I run on this machine, and can I administrate > all these virtual servers using the WIN32 applications that come on the > accompanying disk? Five? Check /etc/vsd/vsd.conf Look for the section labeled <Partition 0> Change MaxVS to some higher setting? One of the more densly populated servers I have here ( freeVSD-1.4.10 installed from the Idaya CD-ROM ) has 22 virtuals on it, with quite a bit of room to grow. ( as I type, current load average on this machine is .09 it's usually up around .20 or so. This is on a 700mhz machine, 512 megs of ram 40gig drive. Highest traffic site currently on this box got about 3million hits last month ) > > I need to get about 12 virtual servers running to make this a viable effort.
