We are an ISP that is using FreeBSD and looking to offer Virtual Servers to our customers. The only thing we could find to do this on BSD was using Jail, the problem here is only about 60% apps will run, SSL, and IRC Server will not run within a Jail because of the way the TCP socket is setup.
Doing some reading on FreeVSD and everything sounds good but can anyone tell me if there are any draw backs with FreeVSD? Can you get a basic skel with only the OS with no web, mail and so on? Reason we use software from Plesk (Web Control Panel) and their software comes with everything rolled up into one package i.e... Apache, Qmail, ... and they support Redhat. And last, Users will need full access to the virtual server (SSH) is there any major security issues with doing this? Thank for any input you can offer. -Brian Gallucci ------------------------- The freeVSD Support List -------------------------- Subscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=subscribe%20freevsd-support Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=unsubscribe%20freevsd-support Archives: http://freevsd.org/support/mail-archives/freevsd-support -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
