SUMMARY: 1.) Spontaneous reboot likely not a problem with my code since FreeWrt acted the same when my code was disabled. 2.) I am switching to OpenWrt White Russian RC5 for development. 3.) I'm sure you'll do this eventually, but I recommend as soon as you get a well tested build together you be sure to tag or branch.
LONG: Ok, since FreeWrt is in such a state of flux right now I've decided to switch to White Russian RC5. The patches should be compatible, except for the makefiles. It's important to have a known stable system to work with. I will go ahead and see if the 2.6 JFFS2 code ports easily and, if so, modify it. Assuming my patches work fine with White Russian, I'll submit them here and we can assume they work with FreeWrt. I am really thinking the spontaneous reboot I saw is not a problem related to my code, but I'm still not sure because the current build of FreeWrt isn't building and I didn't want to go back to a known good build. As I previously said, since I disabled my code in a FreeWrt build and it still spontaneously rebooted, I am reasonable sure the fault lied somewhere else in FreeWrt instead of in my modifications. Or it could have been a problem with my particular package selections. -- Jeremy Collake Bitsum Technologies www.bitsum.com _______________________________________________ freewrt-developers mailing list [email protected] https://www.freewrt.org/lists/listinfo/freewrt-developers
