I agree with you. But iptables is a special case: I assume, 99,x% of all FreeWRT will use some kind of routing or firewall facilities, so they need normally iptables. But this shouldn't be a problem if we choose correct dependencies and autoloader scripts for the modules. I think this is 1.1 stuff.
