Hi,

I'm using FreeWRT on a ASUS WL-500gP which serves as a router and a
music box. The music is on an external USB disc with ext3 fs. I want to
cleanly shutdown the device before power off in order to make sure the
fs is properly unmounted. And I want to achieve this without having to
login, su, and call halt every time.

Ideas:
 - shut down using the web interface. Problem: only root may halt,
lighttpd runs as nobody. Is there a way to let users halt/reboot,
e.g. by adding them to some group?

 - Some hardware button connected to serial. Nice, but no time for
   soldering right now.

 - Using one of the hardware buttons to shut down. Can someone give
me a clue how to do this?

any other ideas?

Thanks in advance, Ralf
