I suspect the technical support lines for both the internet connection and
the machine itself are premium numbers... handy for the complete novices
these machines are targeted at.  They'll also expect to sell delivery at �40
and a monitor.

everyone spent 25-30 quid a month on phone calls I reckon they might break

on the retail price of the PC (assuming they get half of the total cost of

If these free PCs are based on the interconnect fees, expect offers like

to dry up sometime next year (24 months before the 2002 telecoms
deregulation
date)
