I don't use a Mac very much, but I've been using Vista beta & RC for a 
few months and it seems fine.   Vista does work in current Parallels.  
Recently the needed changes were made to Cygwin for Vista so that 
Unix-like tools work, which at least for me is important.

But, really, if you don't already know what version of Windows you want, 
maybe you don't really need it at all?

P.S. Note that people run Windows all the time in vmware, but in order 
to force people to buy their hardware, Apple has done their best to stop 
MacOS X from running inside Linux or Windows. This is not to say that 
vmware won't soon run _on_ MacOS X.  Someone figured out how to do it a 
few months ago and Apple threated them until they took the information down!
