The Coffee House has free wifi - it's in the Smith's shopping center: <https://www.thecoffeebooth.com/>

UNM-LA also has free wifi: <http://www.la.unm.edu/Wireless/>
There is a cafe there too: <http://www.la.unm.edu/business/food_services.html>

Hot Rocks *was* free but now has a pay-for-service through Blackrock networks (I think),
Starbucks has a T-Mobile Hot-spot (subcription or pay-per use),
there is *free* wifi at the Coffee place (I don't know the name) in the Metzger's shopping center. There *was* free wifi at the video store on Conoco hill and they had coffee too a year ago... don't know about now. The Quark Bar keeps promising to put in WiFi for me so I can drink beer (rather than coffee) in the afternoon while pretending to work.
