I haven't had the chance to test out the GSM mode, but my Droid 2 Global is quite good. It's got a beefy feel, which makes typing on the slide out keyboard pretty smooth and fast. I can manage my cloud sims nicely from it. Battery life in CDMA mode is 1-2 days, depending on how you use it. There's a handy app called "Spare Parts" that helps identify what's draining the battery.
