I believe Gary said that he, like me, has lost his licence by moving overseas and not being able to renew.
Of course, whether or not to cycle depends on conditions and other options for most people. That being said, the Danes don't seem to have any problem with ice in winter and you can improvise snow tyres with zip ties if you're in a completely snow covered environment. I did this after the blizzard last year on my commute (St. Albans to Hatfield, Herts) and it was sort of okay. People in more northern areas would just change out their tyres for snow tyres during winter. But, if its relatively dry around these days, it shouldn't be a problem at all. You would want to wear warm clothes, but not as warm as if you are just standing around, otherwise, you'll get too hot. Oh, and a bike lock...
