V International Biennial Symposium “Complexity 2013 – for a Sustainable
Development”
June 3 - 5, 2013
Chair of Complexity
University of Camaguey "Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz"
Cuba

Complexity 2013 will be held in the framework of the V International
Conference “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Development” - CYTDES
2013

Topics of interest

The scientific knowledge about “complex behavior” has been maturing
intensively during the last years, and besides, it is closely related to
the prevention and solution of the most important problems nowadays for
human society.

Complexity Science, Engineering and Education, Complex Thought,
Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Research and Education are
fundamental ways of facing the solution of complex problems.

Even so the achieved level of systematization of scientific knowledge in
this field, there remain still different views, open problems,
misunderstandings, difficult issues, and above all, the need for
interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary meetings which promote an open
dialogue between the diversity of perspectives and perceptions.

Complexity 2013 call for participating in such topics, which contribute
enriching and systematizing the scientific knowledge about the complex
behavior of systems and/or its use in the solution of relevant complex
problems for the social, human and sustainable development. The Organizing
Committee is working to reach this goal taking into account the diversity
of views, and will propose an attractive Scientific Program, where
participants will feel motivated all the time.

Main topics:

Science, Engineering and Education of Complex behavior.
Interdisciplinary Research and Education: Framing and solving complex
scientific problems.
Transdisciplinary Research and Education: Framing and solving complex real
world problems.
Complexity and Sustainable Development.

In Cuba, the University of Camaguey is a reference point on Complexity,
because of its works on research and education on complex behavior. Since
2005 it has been celebrated a biannual conference, and several graduate and
postgraduate courses given.

The Symposium aims contributing to the development of our professors,
researchers, students and visitors, offering and international context for
showing their results and approaches. It will be a good time for new
projects and academic services to be shared. Participants from different
countries are usually expected.
