I only use Windows sporadically when my clients force me to. So I don't know much about that. But I do try to pressure my clients away from things like *.docx, trying to get them to collaborate in *.odt, *.md, etc. So while Windows 11 may suck and GitHub may train on your private repositories and such, were I to allocate Microsoft's anxiety, I'd put it in 2 categories:
1. Europe's newly found sovereignty, thanks to Trump's psycho-populist [cough] leadership style 2. FOMO on the AI hype cycle, having been left behind and offering the objectively worst one in Copilot.
