I just wanted to write:

    Yes, although I don't know the "hard facts", I guess that's the
    case.

I was mainly thinking, that fricas could become more unstable by some
failing tests.

However, maybe that would be a not so bad way to discover instabilities?
After all, this is one of the most annoying things when running "big"
software: instability if run long enough.

Anyway: please commit.
