quad core i7, at 3GHz (but I ran on battery power, and it may be throttled) with
sbcl 1.0.50.0.debian (that comes as a package with the recent ubuntu 11.10) and
make -j8

real 7m58.882s
user 18m32.542s
sys 1m6.900s

cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep "model name"|uniq
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
with hyperthreathing (I think this machine automatically uses "turbo boost" up to about 3GHz on heavy tasks -- but I don't yet have a linux tool that monitors these higher frequencies)

sbcl 1.0.50.0.debian

r1281

configure --prefix=/home/hemmecke/software --with-lisp=sbcl --enable-gmp
make -j8 > make.log 2>&1

real 4m52.969s
user 20m8.656s
sys 1m18.861s

Additionally for running make in src/aldor to build libaxiom.al.

real 1m57.159s
user 6m37.789s
sys 0m45.875s

And now on battery (/proc/cpuinfo showed up to 1.5 GHz only)
fricas
real 8m50.117s
user 35m27.073s
sys 2m1.832s

libaxiom.al
real 3m12.718s
user 12m27.639s
sys 1m13.609s
