Didn't you look at https://github.com/hemmecke/fricas/commit/921fb0769025445114b96434842fe58e290f7200 I'd either call this generateHallBasis or hallBasis. I opt for the first, since this is a package and not a domain, I think a short name like basis is not so good since it probably forces people to always explicitly add "$HallBasis()" in order to disambiguate.
