You ask there whether the texmacs format is used. As far as I know TeXmacs can embed FriCAS in its documents and when one calls fricas from TeXmacs, then fricas outputs in texmacs format and texmacs does the formatting. It is also here where the ioHooks come into play. Actually, Martin Rubey also programmed then into the efricas interface.
