I'd stay away from Google's offerings, given how often they break/remove their stuff, etc (it probably also has a big Google "platform" bias, too). I'd choose something like elm (https://elm-lang.org/) instead. Yes, it compiles to JS and runs in a browser, but that's a plus, not a minus. Messing around with a gazillion different windowing enviroments is better left to other projects.
