Nonpareils are one of several almond varieties commonly cultivated in the western US. I've committed to taking what he has left, which is roughly 2/3 Nonpareil (at $3 per pound) and 1/3 Peerless (at $2.50 per pound.) They are shelled and sorted.
My experience with this grower in the past has been that his almonds were dry-farmed. The resulting nut is about 1/3 the size of the typical Trader Joe's or Blue Diamond almond, with about 3x the flavor.
