No, it actually isn't 'à Paris'. Operators that have direct access to the 
copper local loop don't do this (some would probably do it, but only for a 
price similar to a FTTO - read "high enough", and only when deploying the fiber 
would be excessively complicated). And given the distance needed just to get 
the copper cable out of the building, 500Mbps using G.fast is close to 
impossible.
