That's right, Ross. The build we supply isn't Free. It's encumbered by trademark problems. Really, it's open source with the option of being free again in another life. In short, the binary that comes from Mozilla is licensed under the MPL, but the MPL states that you can alternatively relicense it under the GPL, so it _can be_ Free. It's just not Free right now. Debian Legal got into a huffuf* about this, but ended up settling with the unofficial artwork.

So Debian did finally include a non-official-artwork version of Firefox? I remember hearing about Debial Legal's objections and whatnot, but not being a Debian person, I never heard the conclusion.

I wasn't meaning to start a humbug about it...I was mostly just curious about others' position. I personally strongly agree with the trademarking of the Mozilla and FireFox. The last thing we need is some Firefox-logo-wielding spyware plugin for IE or some other crazy manifestation causing problems.
