Hello All! I've got a question that I was hoping someone on this mailing list could answer..
I'm looking for a book that would help to teach Linux to someone who knows Windows (and knows Windows well). Something that would teach someone more about Linux in a way that doesn't assume he already knows everything about Linux, but doesn't dumb it down as if he doesn't know anything about computers at all. Someone recommended Secret Decoder Ring (Mark Minasi), but that was written in 2000 and it's update was in 2002 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0782141196/qid=1115244979/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-7961688-1424058) that basically taught linux to a Windows user, but it was written for an older version of Red Hat (5.0 I believe) and all the reviews say it's completely outdated anymore. So-- the question is, is either of these books going to be any good just for learning concepts in Linux (even if they are a little outdated), or does anyone know of a similar style book that would be better?
