I was just handed a free PC and aside from wanting to get start from a clean slate, I'm sure all of you are well aware of other benefits of Linux in general. I went ahead and installed Ubuntu because it is simple, but then it occurred to me that before I transfer all the files and get totally setup on the new PC I should ask for suggestions from more experienced users on a good distribution to use.
Its a PC for myself and my family, so a user friendly GUI for someone who hasn't used Linux before would be nice. Aside from that no other requirements are really needed, but it would be nice to have something that has easier installation of printers, cameras, thumb drives, etc. Thanks -- Chris Gordon [EMAIL PROTECTED] PS.
