0 is January... everything starts from 0. Almost like a *real* programming language :) But, I finally found the answer... apparently it's a known bug in the calendar (and advanced calendar) component, to work around you have to set the displayed month on another frame - ie, after the calendar component is loaded. Spastic but it works... Incidently... how come I struggle with this stuff for hours, finally post for some help, and find the answer myself within an hour of posting? Maybe I should post sooner...
