Title: [fugli] Re: TextArea.change not triggered by dynamic changes?

Why does that matter?

Just attach it then populate it after its attached.

thanks... can't use attachmovie, the mc is dynamically populated with data... but it's good to know that I shouldn't spend any more time on it ;-)

Cheers,

You cant duplicate a mc into another mc.  You will need to use attachMovie

Subject: duplicateMovieClip

hi guys,

This might be a very simple question but at the moment it's giving me headaches.

I want to do a duplicateMovieClip on a movie but the duplicated movie should be put inside another movie. It works no problem when I'm doing it in the same movie as the original, but when I tell it to create the movieClip in another movie, it has a spaz and doesn't appear.

here's a snippet

on (release) {
        duplicateMovieClip("_root.tester", "_root.myPrintMC.tester", 1);
        setProperty ("myPrintMC.tester", _x, "200");
}

Any help much appreciated

Cheers,
Chris
