My statement was not that HW firewall are useless and that everyone should switch from HW Firewalls to SW Firewalls. Of course HW Firewalls are a strong protection for any corporate network. In our Network we also have a HW Firewall and the Internet Server is protected with a iptables fw. So we don’t use Zone alarm there.   But for home users it is nice protection. No home user would set up a hw Firewall unless he has for example a DSL Router. Home users try out shareware and adware stuff.
