Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective "Sherlock Holmes" is world famous for
coming to the most amazing conclusions. For example, one night, Watson and
Holmes were lying on their backs on a piece of lawn and were staring up
into the sky, at thousands of thousands of twinkling stars.

"What conclusion, my dear Watson, do you draw from the view above us?"
Holmes asked his faithful companion. Watson stared into the blackness above
them and offered:
"The profane observation would be that there are millions of stars above
our very heads."
  "And...?" Holmes queried.

"And from that the astrological conclusion would be that there must be
thousands of galaxies and milky ways in the universe."
"That's too far away." Watson was put down.

"The theological conclusion would be that, there being millions of stars
just like this one out there, we are but as small as insects, God's humble
creature."
"I didn't intend to discuss philosophy here, stick to the facts, please."
Was all Holmes commented on this conclusion.

"Beats me. What did I miss?"
"My dear Watson," Holmes commenced, "from the fact that above our heads we
can clearly perceive the stars and the sky, I deduce" Holmes paused for
more effect "that our tent was stolen while we were sleeping."
