I agree. Completely.

In fact, the zone-h defacement archives are busy daily
documenting website defacements, so much so that it has
almost become commonplace.

A more insidious threat, as you well know, is not defacement,
but rather the compromise of websites and placement of malicious
code which further compromises hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting
users via "drive-by's".
